When using adobe photoshop, how can i put an outline on an image?anti virus scan



It depends on what sort of outline you opt for, but one way is :



1) cut out the part that needs the outline (using the selection tools)



2) paste this (it creates a new layer)



3) select the layer and click the small effects button (circle with a ''f'' at the bottom of the layer pallette) and choose ''outer glow''



4) adjust the settings until you get the desired effect.



Inner glow might work too. Other than that, it's possible to use the pen tool to draw the outline and fill the outline with a colour. More complicated and time-consuming, though, so I would try using the layer effects first.



Another way is copying the object to a new layer below the original object, select that layer' content (%26lt;CTRL%26gt;-click on the layer) and choose Select, Modify, Expand. Expand the selection (trial %26 error, because it depends on the resolution you're working in) and fill the whole selection with a different colour. This creates an outline as well.
